HIGH SCHOOL MATH PROGRAM

At Times Learning Centre, we offer a progressive and advanced after-school math program designed for conventional and high-achieving students, typically those who demonstrate a strong aptitude for mathematics. We take a comprehensive approach to develop deep mathematical understanding and problem-solving skills through supplementary practice worksheets and teacher assistance. Our program is structured to challenge students and promote high-level thinking in mathematics.

We strictly follow Nelson and McGrawHill Ryerson textbooks as prescribed by Ontario District School Board. Below is a general framework for an Ontario curriculum-based high school math program

Program structure:

  1. Individualized Plan: Each student starts at a level determined by their initial assessment, ensuring they begin with work they can perform comfortably before moving on to more challenging material.

  2. Step-by-Step Approach: The program is designed with a step-by-step worksheet approach, allowing students to gradually increase in complexity at their own pace. This method helps build confidence and mastery in various math topics.

  3. Daily Practice: At TLC, we emphasize daily practice, which is key to the program's success. Regular, incremental practice helps reinforce concepts and improve students' calculation speed and accuracy. The daily practice and self-learning method promote discipline, time management, and independent study habits.

  4. Competition Preparation: For those interested, we offer test preparation for admission to pre-IB, AP and SAT exams, providing an opportunity for students to apply their skills in a competitive setting.
